The Reverend Dr. Joseph P. Lee, Jr. is the 17th Pastor of The Historic Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia, where he has faithfully served since June 2008. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Lee is a Spirit-led and anointed preacher, teacher, leader, mentor, business administrator, and manager with more than 30 years of pastoral experience in ministry and leadership.
Under his faithful leadership, Bank Street has navigated economic recessions, a global pandemic, and the changing demands of modern ministry, while continuing to stand strong in preaching, teaching, singing, worshipping, and serving. The church has also experienced continued growth through technological improvements in the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, along with renovations and enhancements throughout the church campus.
Dr. Lee is a former United States Marine Corps Reservist, a seasoned denominational leader, and a graduate of several respected institutions, including the University of Richmond, Virginia Union University, and United Theological Seminary. He has been married for more than 35 years to Kimberly Dorothea Eddleton Lee, and together they are the proud parents of three sons.
His life and ministry continue to be guided by Matthew 28:19–20 and a steadfast commitment to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
